CitMP (Certified Information Technology Management Professional)
Certification
The CitMP credential certifies your knowledge of and expertise in Information Technology Management topics that are typically covered in a core MIS program (see CitMP (Mini-MIS) Training page for sample curriculum).
In order to get certified as a CitMP, you need to take and pass a 3-hour multiple-choice closed-book remote-proctored online-exam containing 180 questions, and score a minimum of 70% to be deemed as a "pass". Note that you must take the exam within one year (12 months) from your date of registration after which your CitMP registration expires (no refunds).
Prerequisite for CitMP: You must have, at a minimum, a 2-year Associates or a 3-4-year Bachelor's (Baccalaureate) degree before you can sit for the exam . If you do not have one or more of these accredited college degrees, please do not register for this certification. Also required: CMP; active and current membership in CMP Institute.
Recertification Requirements: In order to maintain your certification, you need to recertify each year by confirming that:
- You are still a member of CMP Institute (annual renewal required -- recertification fees are included in your membership dues).
- You are continuing to spend a minimum of 12 hours a year learning the technology management related content provided to you as part of your membership. Be sure to maintain a log of your learning activities in the event of a random audit.
- You are continuing to abide by our code of Ethics (stated simply in our Values under About Us).
